Though the transition does not directly affect cable customers, the situation for cable users depends entirely on your cable company. Do you have:
Analog Cable
In theory, the digital transition does not affect you. However, some cable companies are using this transition to end analog cable and will require you to get a digital set-top box. You will have to contact your cable provider for help.

Satellite
Most satellite customers are all set. A few, however, still get their local channels over the air with a regular antenna.

Now for the tough part. We need to figure out if you have a digital TV or an analog TV. A digital TV would have a digital tuner or an ATSC tuner. Check your manual, the manufacturers web site or google your TVs model# + ATSC to find out.
